Architect/Artist

I have never separated artists from architects. Nor should you. This piece is the product of the unification of the two. form and function. I couldn't tell you where it's from because it happened to pop on screen randomly while I was looking for futuristic examples of opulent design in that field for this post. Unfortunately no tags or i.d. were sited. Please comment with any information you may have to the origin of this building and it's location.

This is the Gary Comer Center funded by Gary Comer Fndn and designed by local architect John Ronan. It is also home to the South Shore Drill Team which houses one of the greatest Youth Programs that Chicago has ever encountered. This space also encompasses everything from Arts programs that challenges kids in areas of Graphics design/painting/sculpture/ceramics/still drawings/ photography etc..., Culinary Arts for youths (free daily meals) as well as Youth Music Production (kids can cut a free-style cd and learn to manage their own recording studio), great roof top garden that gives away fresh vegetables during seasonal months and other phenomenal programs. This is all free to the community. The building is run by Ayoka Samuels one of the best Chicago has. Kudos to the Community for all their great contributions and Theaster Gates for introducing me to it.
