The 1st Amendment is the corner stone of creativity for any artist. If and when freedom are negated it is no surprise artists are usually within the first group of people to notice or react. It affects society so profoundly. This image will most likely re-appear for decades to come.
What seems to baffle me is how the dove has become such a symbolic symbol of peace over other animals. Most animals naturally want freedom. Even domesticated animals yearn for it. Somehow the dove has grown to represent freedom so much, it is kept captive in boxes for hours on end at events globally and then released with balloons and fireworks to illustrate how free they are after being captured. Awkward stuff.
Anyhow, please look up this organization and try to support it. What main stream and conservative people fail to realize most of the time is after freedom is taken from the artists and those who express and communicate with others, it will eventually be taken from everyone.
